Brooklyn’s Largest Resource Fair for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities

Brooklyn, NY, April 12, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The largest annual gathering of individuals, families, advocates, agencies, and friends of individuals with developmental disabilities in Brooklyn is scheduled for Thursday, May 17. The Brooklyn Family Support Fair, Building the Future Together, will be held at the Brooklyn College Student Union from 9:00 am to 2:30 pm. This is the 23rd Annual Family Support Fair and is coordinated by the Brooklyn Developmental Disabilities Council.

The Fair, free for families and individuals with disabilities, will feature a Resource Fair, enabling attendees the opportunity to speak with representatives from more than 100 agencies and vendors. A variety of workshops and seminars are offered throughout the day. Workshop topics included: The New IEP, Social Stories and Autism, Entitlements, Crisis Resources, and more.

Services for all age groups will be represented and include: Advocacy, After-School, Early Intervention, Special Education, Family Reimbursement, Day Programs, Vocational Programs, Respite, Residential, and more.

The Fair will be held at Brooklyn College’s Student Union Building at Campus Road and East 27th Street. It is accessible via the bus: B6, B11, B41, B44, B49, or Q35; or subway: Q to Ave. J, transfer to B6 or B11 bus to Campus Rd., or 2 and 5 to Brooklyn College-Flatbush Ave.
