Marilee Byers, Director of Financial Compliance at Microsoft to Speak at the Knowledge Congress’ Teleconference on “Sarbanes-Oxley: 2007 New Management Guidance Update”

New York, NY, June 07, 2007 --(PR.com)-- The Knowledge Congress, the leading producer of regulatory-focused teleconferences has announced today that Marilee Byers, Director of Financial Compliance responsible for the Sarbanes-Oxley compliance at Microsoft Corporation, will speak at the Knowledge Congress teleconference on “Sarbanes-Oxley: 2007 New Management Guidance Update” scheduled for Tuesday, June 19, 2007 at 12:00 Noon till 2:00 PM (EST).

On May 23rd 2007, regulators unanimously approved interpretive guidance of Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002 to assist public companies augment their internal controls and financial reporting efforts while reducing costs. Companies will need to understand this new guidance in order to fully avail of its benefits.

The Knowledge Congress has assembled a panel of distinguished experts to help make these policies clear to the organizations most impacted. The panel will present their findings, which include a "best practice" panel, and a question-and-answer segment enabling the audience to interact directly with the faculty.

About Marilee Byers

Marilee Byers is the Director of the Financial Compliance Group at Microsoft, which includes the SOX program management office. She has also held a similar position at another large public company. Marilee’s group is responsible for SOX compliance and for other financial compliance programs, such as an automated segregation of duties analysis and management of all audit and SOX testing issues. The FCG reports to the Controller’s organization and supports a decentralized compliance organization world-wide.

Marilee is active in a benchmarking group of technology companies and has spoken at a number of industry conferences focused on Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Marilee started her career with Deloitte & Touche in Seattle and has held many financial and operational leadership positions in the financial services industry as well as in a number of start-up companies.
