BodyLase Skin Spa Commemorates 10-Year Anniversary

Local MedSpa Owner Karen Albright Throws Celebration Event to Thank Clients as Company Reviews Milestones of Past Decade.

Raleigh, NC, May 16, 2012 --(PR.com)-- Karen Albright, president and owner of BodyLase Skin Spa (http://www.getbodylase.com), a medically oriented skin spa with multiple locations offering the latest innovations in laser hair removal, skin rejuvenation and anti-aging treatments, has announced the spa will celebrate its 10-year anniversary with a VIP kick-off event on Thursday, May 17. The event is being held to recognize and thank the spa’s clients, employees and stakeholders for their support and loyalty during the past decade. BodyLase will continue to host client events and specials throughout the year in honor of its business anniversary.

Albright opened Bodylase in 2002 with her husband, board-certified surgeon and medical physician Daniel Albright, M.D., and has grown the business from a one-service, single laser, one-room operation into a multi-location, award-winning facility with several lasers and dozens of treatment offerings, both medical and non-medical. The company has been recognized with multiple awards, including Best of Citysearch, a Standing Ovation MetroBravo award for best skin care products from Metro Magazine, Independent Weekly’s Best of the Triangle Award for Best Day Spa, and most recently the 2011 Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Pinnacle Award for Steady Growth and Profitability. Over the years, Albright herself has received multiple awards, including the Women in Business Award from Triangle Business Journal, the Women Extraordinaire award and Business Woman of the Year by the National Association of Women Business Owners Greater Raleigh Chapter. Additionally, Albright was named to the 2012 Top 50 Entrepreneurs of the Triangle Area by Business Leader Media and was honored during an event held in March.

In the competitive aesthetics industry, BodyLase competes in the marketplace both as a full spa that also offers medically-based services, and as a medically-based spa with full-service aesthetics. To grow and compete over the years, Albright has continually added services – some of which, like lasers, cost hundreds of thousands of dollars. Holding fast to the business’ medical base, she has regularly upgraded to the latest technology in laser treatments and skin care treatments, rounding out BodyLase services to include full-service spa aesthetics, such as massages, and facials. The spa’s most recently added technology is SmartLipo Treatment, the new quicker way to contour, shape and reduce fat. A less invasive procedure than traditional liposuction, SmartLipo may be up to 20 times more efficient for getting rid of body fat, and is described as a lipolysis procedure in which fat deposits are melted and aspirated using a thin cannula and low-level laser.

BodyLase Skin Spa has a reputation for being community-oriented. Once a month, BodyLase donates gift certificates valued from $150 to $200 to nonprofits for silent auctions, and over the past 10 years, BodyLase has donated thousands of dollars in gift certificates to nonprofits including the Junior League, Red Cross and local schools. The company has sponsored such diverse community projects and events as a Christmas tree at the Raleigh Assistance League, high school track and field meets, and the Greater Raleigh Chamber of Commerce Executive Women’s Luncheon, among other efforts.

Quotes:
“Reflecting on the past, I feel very blessed that BodyLase Skin Spa has grown into such a successful and highly respected business,” said Albright. “Not only has the business provided my family with a good living, but also it has allowed me to spend time with them and instill important values in my children, such as perseverance, creativity and hard work. I give credit to my wonderful employees, my husband and children, and my father, who was the first person to convince me that this business could work and would be successful.”
