SMC Corporation of America has completed its latest 600,000 square-foot expansion to boost total facility space to 1.5 million square feet in its North American headquarters in Noblesville, Indiana.

Noblesville, IN, November 02, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The latest 600,000 square-foot expansion was constructed outward from the east and west sides of the current building, increasing production floor space by approximately 360,000 square feet and in turn increasing warehouse storage space by an additional 240,000 square feet. The estimated $19 million capital expansion project brings the total overall facility floor space to 1.5 million square feet, creating the largest SMC worksite outside of Japan.

The completion of the most recent construction marks the second time in just five years that SMC has undertaken an expansion project at the Noblesville worksite and will add a forecasted 163 new jobs by 2017. Back in the spring of 2009 was the first expansion, when it moved its U.S. corporate headquarters from Indianapolis to Noblesville.
