The 2012 Sandy Trowbridge Award for Community Service was awarded to sensor manufacturer Lion Precision by the National Association of Manufacturers.

St. Paul, MN, November 17, 2012 --(PR.com)-- The National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) recognized Lion Precision of St. Paul, Minnesota, with the Sandy Trowbridge Award for Excellence in Community Service. The Trowbridge Award honors an NAM member company that has shown exemplary leadership in serving its community or state and is an example of the giving spirit of our nation’s manufacturers and businesses.

Lion Precision has a long history of community involvement. Employees generously volunteer their time to the Feed My Starving Children organization to help feed children in 60 countries around the world. Employees also lend their time to Habitat for Humanity activities and numerous other causes important to them in the St. Paul area. As part of their efforts, Lion Precision also provides financial support to other local humanitarian organizations to assist the homeless and struggling families.

"Lion Precision and its employees are carrying on the tremendous legacy of Sandy Trowbridge with their commitment to serve others in their community,” said NAM President and CEO Jay Timmons. “The work of Lion Precision is a great example of how manufacturers can make a difference and have a positive impact to help those in need.”

The Trowbridge Award is named after the late Alexander B. “Sandy” Trowbridge, former Secretary of Commerce who served as president of the NAM from 1979 to 1989. Trowbridge was known for his leadership on behalf of manufacturing and for his strong commitment to community service.

“We believe that serving our community is an important part of who we are at Lion Precision,” said Lion Precision President Don Martin. “Our company’s policy is to positively impact and strengthen the quality of life within the communities and neighborhoods in which we live and work.
