New Acoustic Calibrators from Cirrus Research plc

Cirrus Research plc has introduced a new range of precision Acoustic Calibrators designed for use with noise measurement instruments.

Hunmanby, United Kingdom, July 20, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Cirrus Research plc announces the introduction of a new range of Acoustic Calibrators. Key features of the new CR:514 and CR:515 are:

> IEC 60942:2003 Class 2 & Class 1 Performance
> 94dB Sound Pressure Level Output
> Suitable for use with ½” microphone capsules
> Automatic power switch off with user override giving long battery life
> Robust case with ergonomic design

The CR:514 and CR:515 are high performance acoustic calibrators designed for the field and laboratory calibration of sound level meters and other noise measurement equipment. The units are simple to operate and meet the requirements of the latest IEC 60942:2003 standard for Acoustic Calibrators with performance to Class 2 (CR:514) and Class 1 (CR:515) .

The calibrators provide an output level of 1kHz at a sound pressure level of 94dB and are suitable for use with ½” microphone capsules.

Easy access to the battery for replacement as well as a robust design allow the CR:514 and CR:515 units to be used for both field calibration of sound level meters as well as for precision calibration of other sound measurement equipment.

A single push button is used to switch on the calibrator and the unit will automatically switch off after 3 minutes to conserve battery life. The user can override the automatic switch off allowing the unit to be used for longer periods if required.

The calibration of sound level meters and other noise measurement equipment is vital to ensure that any measurements taken are accurate and comply with any regulations and guidelines that are being followed.

The CR:514 and CR:515 Acoustic Calibrators provide a simple and reliable method of carrying out both field and laboratory calibration of noise measurement equipment.

CR:514 and CR:515 Acoustic Calibrators can be ordered as individual units and are supplied with a user manual, certificate of calibration and a battery.
