)-- Gary Bennett, Managing Partner of STOPP states, “We believe that the Security Officer of today needs to have better training if they are to deal with the demands that modern society places on them. Unarmed and armed officers alike need to be able to deal with physical confrontations in an efficient manner that takes them out of harms way and reduces the risk of gun-play. This is why we’ve developed this training program.
"For most unarmed officers, training opportunities are almost non-existent. Some are offered very limited training in the basic use of pepper spray, baton and handcuffs; most are not. Unarmed defense and disarming techniques are rarely taught.
"Our instructors have taught both private and government security officers, municipal and state police, members of the national intelligence community, as well as, elite U.S. combat troops. The one thing all of these people have said is that the training they had previously received in hand-to-hand defensive tactics was so minimal; they had to depend on their weapons to survive. Where does that leave the unarmed officer, who due to restrictions of the client may not even be permitted to carry pepper spray on the job?"
STOPP's exclusive CCT (Controls and Come-along Tactics) Training was designed by internationally recognized martial arts experts, specifically for the professional Security Officer. It features the most effective unarmed and Kubotan assisted techniques ever developed, for self defense and control of aggressive subjects. Designed for maximum effectiveness while causing minimal damage, CCT Training is a must for any serious Security Officer or Executive Protection Operative. It’s also excellent training for Private Investigators, Operatives and Bail Enforcement Agents.
This training is being offered to any Security Officer, company or government agency, which wants their officers to enhance their present skills, have better control of potentially dangerous situations, and be less likely to end up accidentally using excessive force. This is highly specialized training, which is not available to the general public.
Training is broken down into three (3) phases, first is a 15 hour basic self defense training (CCT Phase I), the next two phases are 30 hours each, which make up the entire 75 Hour CCT Training Certification Program. Participants must successfully complete each phase before moving on.
Phase I is basic self defense for every security officer, which features an introduction to Defensive Combat, close quarter defense, escapes, controls, takedowns and Kubotan assisted techniques.
Phase II is composed of intermediate defensive tactics, control techniques and come-alongs, designed for those officers more involved in dealing with the public, crowd control and/or escorting personnel.
Phase III is our most advanced unarmed training designed for bodyguard and executive protection operatives, including unarmed weapon defense.
STOPP's CCT Training Certification is a private certification and is not affiliated with any government agency or education program.
The first class in the Pittsburgh area is scheduled to begin January 5th 2013
