On the Water, in the Classroom and at the Conference with Sonardyne at Ocean Business 2013

Yateley, United Kingdom, March 09, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Daily demonstrations are the key focus of Sonardyne International Ltd.’s presence at this year’s Ocean Business in Southampton. Taking place at the National Oceanography Centre (NOC) from Tuesday 9th April to Thursday 11th April, Sonardyne’s trials and research vessel, Sound Surveyor, boasts a packed programme schedule including SPRINT INS, 6G multi-user acoustics and Solstice Side Scan Sonar.

Inside on Sonardyne’s stand, E1, visitors will be able to explore technology for acoustic positioning, inertial navigation, sonar imaging and wireless communications. The company’s Survey Support Group (SSG) and application experts will also be on hand to offer guidance and advice on any subsea project. Visitors can also get hands-on with Sonardyne at one of the daily classroom sessions held in the Student Centre, Room 121/05. With three sessions to choose from, attendees can receive guidance on choosing the right acoustic and inertial positioning systems for their requirements, discover how to spend less time calibrating and more time surveying with the company’s new Lodestar GyroUSBL or, in conjunction with the on water demonstrations, can explore the development of Solstice and its wide-ranging AUV applications.

For those attending the conference on Thursday 11th April, Sonardyne’s Engineering Director, Simon Partridge, will be presenting a new concept in tetherless ROV-AUV hybrid operations. This will be followed by Project Manager Nick Street giving a joint presentation with Subsea 7, looking at the history and technological requirements of Bundle Tow Monitoring.

Anyone interested in attending a demonstration or classroom session can guarantee their place onboard in advance of the show by booking via Sonardyne’s website. Limited places will be available to book during the show by visiting Sonardyne on stand E1.

In addition to the academic and technical side of Ocean Business, Sonardyne is also actively involved in the event’s renowned social programme, hosting a Wine Trail station on Tuesday 9th April and exclusively sponsoring the prestigious Gala Dinner held on Wednesday 10th April at Southampton Guildhall.

With the countdown to Ocean Business 2013 having begun, Sonardyne will be posting regular updates, including a vessel and classroom demonstration schedule, on their website and via Twitter @Sonardyne.
