Lord Corporation Indiana Plant Honored with Governor’s Workplace Safety Award

Manufacturing Plant Honored for Advancing Occupational Safety and Health

Cary, NC, March 30, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Lord Corporation (http://www.lord.com/) announced that their manufacturing plant in Indianapolis was honored with the Indiana Governor’s Workplace Safety Award, in the category of Internal Outreach and Education, for advancing occupational safety and health. Lieutenant Governor Sue Ellspermann and Indiana Department of Labor Commissioner Sean M. Keefer presented the award to Lord and seven other Indiana companies at the state's annual Safety and Health Conference and Exposition on March 13, 2013.

This award recognizes companies for implementing best practices to eliminate workplace injuries and illnesses and those organizations that make safety and health a top priority. The recipient companies were judged on safety performance, training effectiveness, strength of the communication processes and employee engagement. Companies qualified by being in full compliance with all applicable local, state, and federal statutes and regulations.

The 2013 Governor’s Workplace Safety Awards are the product of a partnership between government, business and safety leaders: the Indiana Department of Labor on behalf of the governor, the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and the Central Indiana Chapter of the American Society of Safety Engineers.
