Fuentek Receives Two Awards for NASA Publications

Local Tech Transfer Firm Recognized by the Society for Technical Communication’s Carolina Chapter.

Apex, NC, March 31, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Laura A. Schoppe, president of Fuentek, LLC (http://www.fuentek.com/), a local consulting firm that provides intellectual property (IP) and technology transfer services, has announced that the firm has received two awards for its work for NASA from the Carolina Chapter of the Society for Technical Communication (STC). Fuentek received an Excellence Award for the NASA Glenn Research Center 2011 Technology Showcase website and a Merit Award for the “NASA’s Economic Impacts: A 50 State Series” brochures.

Fuentek designed the 2011 Technology Showcase website for NASA’s Glenn Research Center to encourage attendance by a wide range of companies. The site was sophisticated yet simple, scientifically robust yet easy to navigate, informative yet not overwhelming. The Fuentek project team consisted of project lead Dr. Nannette Stangle-Castor, Web designer and writer Lee Ann Obringer and Web developer Dawn Smith.

NASA also tasked Fuentek with educating people about the economic impact across the U.S. of NASA’s technology transfer program. Fuentek designed the brochures, “NASA’s Economic Impacts: A 50 State Series” to provide concrete and impressive statistics showing how government research projects are helping to spark innovation in a wide array of industries, create new jobs and improve lives to a broad, non-technical audience. The brochures, which have been prominently displayed on NASA’s website and distributed to members of Congress, media and others, were created by Danielle McCulloch with Michelle Allen, Lisa Baker, Carol Collins, Lee Ann Obringer, Michelle Ormond, Dr. Amy Strong and Melody Zanation.

Quotes:
“We are privileged to work with NASA and help them tell the nation why the innovations they develop are important and how they impact us economically,” Schoppe said. “We are proud to be recognized by STC Carolina for our efforts in promoting technology transfer and collaboration.”
