Convaid Wheelchairs Recognized with Long-Term Investor Award by City of Torrance

Last week, the Torrance business was awarded for their dedicated service to the community and contributions to the citizens of Los Angeles County.

Torrance, CA, April 25, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Convaid, Inc., the leader in lightweight, compact folding pediatric wheelchairs, was awarded with the 2013 Long-Term Investor Award by the City of Torrance last week at the 6th Annual Torrance Advantage Awards. It was given to Convaid for their dedicated service to the affairs of the community and for the civic pride demonstrated by numerous contributions for the benefit of all the citizens of Los Angeles County.

The award was created to honor businesses that have demonstrated excellence throughout the community through partnerships, innovative strategies and continuous effort towards progress.

In addition to the award, Convaid received recognition from the mayor of Torrance, certificates of recommendation from regional elected officials and $200 to help with operating expenses.

“This is a very big honor for Convaid,” said President of Convaid Chris Braun. “We take pride in giving back to Torrance and its surrounding cities and it’s a great to be recognized for all the contributions Convaid employees have done.”

Through Convaid’s Community Outreach Program, they have donated wheelchairs to individuals and families that could not get insurance or state funding. The company recently partnered with the L.A. County Office of Education and donated several wheelchairs to North Torrance High School’s special needs program. They also have made numerous wheelchair donations to Pediatric Therapy Network (PTN).

Convaid employees are also passionate about their involvement in the community by donating their time and efforts whenever possible. In 2012, Convaid “adopted” Launch pre-school in Torrance, where Convaid employees volunteer with the children at school events and projects.
