New CEO and Board of Directors Finalized for Upcoming Term for the International Feng Shui Guild

The IFSG Board announces their new CEO, Bridget Saraka. Bridget previously served as IFSG Membership Director, interacting with and supporting their membership and local chapter managers. Bridget moved into the CEO role February 1st replacing prior CEO, Laurie Bornstein. Additionally, due to position and functional shifts, the Board has appointed new members to the Board of Directors.

Lees Summit, MO, June 07, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The International Feng Shui Guild Board of Directors requested all interested candidates to submit application for the position of CEO during the fall of 2012. After a thorough vetting and review process by the IFSG Executive Committee, existing Membership Director, Bridget Saraka, was selected as the next CEO for the organization, replacing Laurie Bornstein.

Bridget served the International Feng Shui Guild as Membership Director by supporting and promoting members through personal and virtual connections as well as protecting and developing member benefits, programs, and networking opportunities. Bridget moved into the CEO role February 1st when Laurie Bornstein, existing CEO, stepped down.

The CEO works in partnership with the Board Chair, and is appointed by and is responsible to the Board of Directors. As leader, visionary, decision maker and manager, the CEO has responsibilities including:

* Implementing the strategic plans and policies established by the Board.
* Managing IFSG operations, human resources, financial and physical resources.
* Interfacing between the board, staff and members; and between the IFSG, the Feng Shui community, and other organizations.

From Bridget, “the time as Membership Director has been a fabulous opportunity to get to know so many (members) through the IFSG Facebook Virtual Chapter, membership conversations and committee participation. (Bridget) is most Grateful to each and every one… As new CEO, Bridget promises to do the best to serve the IFSG Community with both heart and mind to continue to build a community of camaraderie, recognition, and respect worldwide.”

Outgoing CEO, Laurie Bornstein, served the IFSG as Education Director (2006-2009) before becoming CEO in 2007. Laurie was successful in leading the IFSG through its first major restructuring that took us from a “membership” to a “professional” organization.

From Laurie, “having the opportunity to represent the IFSG and to support members these past 7 years has truly been one of the most rewarding opportunities in a professional career. Laurie is constantly amazed at how much the organization has grown and changed. The IFSG is truly the professional organization representing Feng Shui; through the establishment of standards in knowledge and training to the incredible benefits the organization provides members - and all have supported the board and Laurie throughout the process.”

As part of the IFSG restructuring and continuity planning, the CEO and Board Chair agreed to mentor their replacements when stepping down. Laurie started that process as soon as Bridget was selected and continued to mentor through mid-April.

Rosalie Prinzivalli, IFSG Board Chair since 2006 said, “While the IFSG can't thank Laurie enough and will miss her wisdom, insight, clarity and grace, the board knows Laurie is following the 'I Ching' and welcoming this change. The IFSG wishes Laurie the best in all - much success, joy, happiness and more.”

During the CEO transition, the board of directors also sought to re-align other board positions and fill several vacant seats. Selections were made from existing members through interviews and careful selection. These are their current Board members:

Rosalie Prinzivalli, Board Chair
Bridget Saraka, new CEO
Mia Staysko, Secretary and Education Director
Lesley Mulvihill, new Treasurer
Tanya Jahnke, new Membership Director
Michelle Luongo, Marketing Director
Renate Bell, new General Board Member
Maureen Calamia, General Board Member
Lois Kramer-Perez, new General Board Member

The International Feng Shui Guild is grateful to all Board members, past and present, who volunteer their time and are passionately dedicated to the IFSG mission and vision. They vigorously protect the IFSG Code of Ethics and professional standing, and work to build a future of Feng Shui and the IFSG to stand through the ages.

The International Feng Shui Guild is dedicated to its mission of advancing the practice, teaching, and use of Feng Shui worldwide, embracing all Feng Shui perspectives, servicing the IFSG membership while inspiring the public.
