Fiber Artist Patricia Bravo takes Art Quilting to a New Level

After making official her 2006 Spring Collection at Quilt Market in Houston last November, Miami Fiber Artist and Fabric Designer Patricia Bravo is launching the newest two designs of her line of Art Quilt Patterns with her already revolutionary system "Appliqué by Numbers".

Miami, FL, December 20, 2005 --(PR.com)-- After making official her 2006 Spring Collection at Quilt Market in Houston last November, Miami Fiber Artist and Fabric Designer Patricia Bravo is launching the newest two designs of her line of Art Quilt Patterns with her already revolutionary system "Appliqué by Numbers".

"With my system, I am very happy to take the fear out that quilters have to make an Art Quilt. It is simple, fast, and especially fun,” she says. "Designing these patterns, I help quilters to overcome this internal voice that says to them that they cannot do it because it is very difficult. I have seen surprising results with many students.”

Her line of Pattern Designs is very appealing to contemporary quilters. She pays homage to painters like Kandinsky and Miró. Her "Butterfly Series" is carried out with very realistic results. “Junonia Coenia”, her newest pattern on that theme, is becoming very popular among quilters. “Color Harmony” (another of her new designs) is an abstract exploration on color and shapes.
Patricia Bravo is a self-taught Fiber Artist who has been quilting for more than 10 years. After exploring traditional quilting, her work was evolving, with an increased interest towards the Art Quilt Movement. She has worked with interior designers and commissioned pieces before designing her own lines of Hand Painted Fabrics and Art Quilt Patterns.

After commercializing them across our country, Canada, Europe and Australia, her system of “Appliqué by Numbers" is considered for many quilt shop teachers as "foolproof.” She works with fusible raw edge appliqué, giving quilters the freedom from seam allowances and needle turn appliqué by hand.
The patterns are explained in a more "friendly" manner, and they come with detailed photos of the whole process. "I think that these patterns must be explained in a different and detailed way, so the quilter does not feel intimidated,” she explains.

At this moment, her line provides with 12 designs and she is working on 5 new ones for the next Spring Quilt Market 2006 at Minnesota.
