Swacha’s Scholarship Program Crosses $100,000 Mark

SWACHA Awards More Than $10,000 Annually in Scholarships for the NACHA Payments Institute

Dallas, TX, June 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Today, SWACHA awarded more than $10,000 in scholarships for the 2013 Payments Institute hosted by NACHA, bringing its scholarship total to more than $100,000 since launching the program in 2001.

Dallas-based SWACHA, one of the largest not-for-profit regional electronic payments associations in the country, awards scholarships to financial professionals for their commitment and involvement both in their financial institution and within the SWACHA organization.

The 2013 scholarships mark the sixth year SWACHA has provided its most prestigious scholarship, the Keith Daniels Memorial Scholarship, and the 12th year awarding three NACHA Payments Institute Scholarships.

The scholarships help cover the costs of the NACHA Payments Institute, a highly-respected week-long education opportunity for financial professionals to broaden their knowledge of all payments systems. The school will be held at the Emory University Conference Center Hotel in Atlanta, Georgia, July 14-17, 2013.

“The recipients of these scholarships have worked very hard to get to where they are in this industry, and they have truly earned the right to attend NACHA’s Payments Institute this year,” said Dennis Simmons, AAP, President and CEO of SWACHA. “It is our hope that they are able to benefit from the school as much as possible, and to use the knowledge they gain to help advance the industry as a whole.”

A Blue Ribbon selection panel made up of distinguished SWACHA members who are also Accredited ACH Professionals (AAPs) chose this year’s scholarship winners, based on several criteria including their level of experience in payment systems and their involvement in the industry. Candidates also worked directly with the ACH network, and had a demonstrated commitment to professionalism, and an interest in expanding their payments knowledge.
