Kroger Mid-Atlantic Stores Raise $105,872 for the United Service Organizations

Local Grocer Partners with USO to Raise Funds for Troops and Their Families.

Raleigh, NC, July 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Kroger Co. (NYSE: KR) (http://www.kroger.com), the nation’s largest traditional grocery retailer with 14 stores throughout the Triangle and North Carolina, has announced that its mid-Atlantic stores have raised $105,872 through their Honoring Our Heroes campaign for the United Service Organizations (USO). Kroger stores raised more than $3.2 million nationally through in-store donations, corporate brand promotions and coin collection boxes.

The USO is a nonprofit that has served the United States military for more than 60 years. Through constantly-evolving programming, the USO continually lives its mission to uplift troops and their families. They sponsor educational, recreational and welfare activities both at home and abroad. From 2010 to 2013, Kroger has donated more than $8 million to the organization.
