Longistics President Andy Marchiano Elected to North Carolina Trucking Association Board of Directors

Company President Will Call on More Than Two Decades of Experience to Help Serve State Nonprofit Group

Research Triangle Park, NC, August 08, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Longistics, a full-service provider of global logistics solutions (http://www.longistics.com), has announced that its President, Andy Marchiano, has been elected and sworn in as member of the 2013-2014 North Carolina Trucking Association (NCTA) Board of Directors. With more than 20 years of experience in the trucking and logistics field, Marchiano will utilize his leadership skills and knowledge in financial and operations planning to assist the board with contributing to fundraising and program activities. His other duties will include participating in NCTA functions and events, working with the board to communicate NCTA’s role in the state’s trucking industry, and supporting the values and goals of NCTA.

The NCTA is a nonprofit trade association that has represented the interests of the trucking industry since 1929. As the industry’s primary voice on transportation and other public policy issues, the NCTA is dedicated to promoting a safe, dependable and cost-effective motor transportation infrastructure in North Carolina. Additionally, the association works to protect the interests of North Carolina’s trucking industry by working with state and federal regulatory and enforcement agencies

With his appointment, Marchiano becomes the third Longistics representative on the board following the company’s Chairman Duane Long and Vice Chairman Pat Long, who most recently served on the board during the 2012-2013 term. His installation occurred at the NCTA 84th Annual Management Conference held in Isle of Palms, S.C. from July 14-17.
