The top three winners and honorable mention award winners were selected by a panel of judges that consisted of professionals working in the entertainment industry and members of The American Society of Cinematographers.

Kim E. Welch, Founder/Director of Studentfilmmakers.com, said of the contest's mission: "We at Studentfilmmakers.com love doing contests and enjoy helping students and aspiring filmmakers of all ages. These contests really bring out the best in filmmakers and help to sharpen their storytelling skills. I think we have accomplished our goal with this contest."

Regarding the entries, Mr. Welch said, "We had more entries on this contest than on any of the other contests so far. The quality of the submissions we received was amazing. We had some that looked so professional we checked to make sure they were from students."
