SMT Names Steve Thompson Chief Financial Officer

Financial Veteran Joins Durham-Based Broadcast Technology Company.

In his new position, Thompson will be responsible for managing SMT’s financial records as well as planning and executing the company’s business and financial strategy.

Prior to joining SMT, Thompson served for 10 years as CFO of Noel Group, LLC, an industrial holding and operating company. Additionally, he has held CFO positions with several other companies in the software and contract manufacturing industries and in public accounting.

Thompson is a member of the advisory boards for various privately held businesses as well as for Passage Home, an organization focused on programs that assist qualified persons in their efforts to break cycles of poverty and homelessness. In 2010, Thompson was a recipient of the American Heart Association’s Heartsaver Hero Award.

Thompson is a graduate of the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. Originally from Eden, N.C., Thompson resides in Raleigh with his wife, Kathleen and their two children.
