Texas Gulf Bank, N.A., received a Gold Award from The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) for architectural design of its Friendswood location.

Friendswood, TX, November 14, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Texas Gulf Bank, N.A., received a Gold Award from The Independent Bankers Association of Texas (IBAT) for architectural design of its Friendswood location. The design accomplished MG Architects’ objectives of creating a brand identity of the Texas Gulf Coast. Using locally sourced materials and design elements gave the building and its interior a comfortable modern feel that encourages customer business and community growth.

IBAT recently honored twenty-two Texas community banks with Best of Community Banking Awards. The Best of Community Banking competition celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of IBAT member banks and the critical role they play in communities across Texas.

“Now more than ever before, the difference between community banks and large financial institutions is clear for all to see,” Chris Williston, president and chief executive officer of the Independent Bankers Association of Texas, said. “Our Texas community banks are on a constant mission to go the extra mile to serve their communities, and these awards give us an opportunity each year to showcase their great work.”

The annual Best of Community Banking Awards recognize IBAT member institutions with a gold, silver or bronze award in four categories: architectural design, financial literacy, community service and marketing. Additionally, a “Best in Show” award is given to the overall winner. Member banks are judged on innovation and creativity, number of people benefited or affected, and the success in fulfilling a community need.

All gold, silver and bronze award entries were on display during the IBAT Annual Convention, with gold award winners recognized at the Best of Community Banking Awards Luncheon on Monday, September 23, at the Westin La Cantera Resort in San Antonio.
