LORD Corporation Named a Fastest Growing Company in the Triangle

LORD Ranks No. 21 on Triangle Business Journal’s 2013 Fast 50 List for Privately Held Companies, Makes List for Second Consecutive Year.

Cary, NC, November 22, 2013 --(PR.com)-- LORD Corporation was presented the Triangle Business Journal’s 2013 Fast 50 Award for the second consecutive year, ranking No. 21. The company finished No. 22 in 2012. This prestigious award is evaluated by PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP and recognizes outstanding entrepreneurial excellence and growth. It honors the 50 fastest growing, privately held companies in North Carolina’s Research Triangle.

The rankings were revealed at the Fast 50 Awards dinner, held Nov. 19, at the Raleigh Convention Center. Kris Burson, LORD director of Global Business Development, Marketing and Strategy accepted the award on behalf of the company.

LORD is building on a decade of strong growth. This year, the company was included in Inc.’s 500|5000 list of fastest growing companies in the United States. It also unveiled its Richard L. McNeel Business Center in December 2012, a 50,000-square-foot facility that received Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. In Erie, Pa., LORD is investing $100 million in developing a state-of-the-art, one million square-foot technology and manufacturing facility.

Among its recent accomplishments, LORD continues to expand its Active Vibration Control System (AVCS) program. As an example of this program’s success, LORD was selected by Sikorsky Aircraft to include AVCS in the next-generation helicopter prototypes for evaluation by the U.S. military. LORD Corporation's innovative technology will enable the aircraft to realize vibration and motion control improvements in a helicopter's performance.

Additionally, LORD Corporation’s Magneto-Rheological (MR) technology is seeing impressive growth in both the United States and Europe. Specifically, LORD is partnering with U.S. Engine Production, Inc. to supply components and fluid for an adaptive suspension system. The partnership with U.S. Engine will support LORD MR adaptive suspension systems in international markets for HMMWV (humvee) military and worldwide commercial off-road retrofit applications, as well as selected domestic markets.
