A summary of the 4-H recognition event held in Minnehaha County honoring the youth.

Sioux Falls, SD, November 23, 2013 --(PR.com)-- The Minnehaha County 4-H program, its youth, volunteers and program staff hosted their year end Recognition Event on November 17th in Dell Rapids. This event honors the 4-H youth in our county and recognizes their accomplishments this past year. The 4-H program in Minnehaha County has over 500 members in 32 Clubs or affiliates in the county.

“This event is more than just an awards ceremony,” says Chuck Martinell, Minnehaha County 4-H Program Advsior. “It is the chance for us to stand up and thank the youth and their families in the county for the hard work they do through the year. To be involved in 4-H is more than just an individual effort, and while the individual does benefit the most, the family as a whole grows together throughout the experience.”

The Minnehaha County 4-H program has Clubs that operate in every community in the county. Its youth take part in over a 1000 service hours to local projects that benefit the community as a whole. The program also teaches youth about how to become future leaders and innovators.
