AGIS Offers Expanded Line of Heat Resistant Sealing Tapes for High Temperature Service Conditions

Suburban Philadelphia manufacturer of industrial sealing products markets wide selection of heat-resistant tapes for service temperatures up to 3000° F.

Ambler, PA, November 26, 2013 --(PR.com)-- An extensive line of fiberglass, ceramic and silica sealing tapes, capable of withstanding temperatures as high as 3000° F, is available from AGIS, LLC, for use in high temperature service conditions.

Typical industrial applications for AGIS heat resistant tapes include flange gasketing, oven door seals, pipe wrapping and insulation, and tadpole gasket covering.

Among the tapes offered are:
Fiberglass. In this group are included several grades: plain, which is a tightly woven tape manufactured from texturized fiberglass; premium grade, which features surface-applied heat treatment, and commercial grade, which is a looser weave than premium and not heat-treated. Also in this group are bolt hole tapes (also known as drop-warp tape), available also in plain, premium and commercial grades; vermiculite-coated plain fiberglass tape and vermiculite-coated bolt-hole tape. They are classified as heat resistant when exposed to service temperatures up to 1800°F.
Ceramic. In this group are woven ceramic fiber tape, an insulating tape capable of withstanding temperatures to 2300°F. These tapes offer inserts of Inconel® wire or glass filament. For personnel protection and fire retardation, heat treated tape is recommended.
Sewn Fiberglass, Ceramic or Silica Tadpole Tapes. These tapes, manufactured with cores and covers of various materials and in various configurations, are used in service conditions where limited bolting force is available and where gaskets must conform to uneven surfaces. Appropriate for service temperatures up to 3000°F.
