Residents of Local Boating and Golf Community to Share the Thanksgiving Holiday with Marines as Guests in Their Homes.

New Bern, NC, November 28, 2013 --(PR.com)-- Fairfield Harbour, a residential boating and golf community located 15 minutes from historic New Bern, has announced the community’s plans to host more Marines from Camp Lejeune on Thanksgiving Day. This year 30 community families will open their homes and invite members of the armed forces to join them for Thanksgiving dinner alongside family and friends. The Marines will arrive at the Fairfield Harbour community center, located at 104 Marina Drive, at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 28, where they will be welcomed by community residents and escorted to the families’ homes. The event was coordinated by Fairfield Harbour residents Bruce and Joan Shattuck and Susan Goodrich, director of Camp Lejeune's Single Marine Program. This is the seventh consecutive year that Fairfield Harbour has hosted the Marines for Thanksgiving dinner.

Quotes:
“We are proud to welcome these great military men and women into our homes this Thanksgiving,” said Mystre’ Van Horn, on-site community manager of Fairfield Harbour. “The Marines work so hard to preserve our freedom, and we want to show them our deep appreciation for their dedication and service by giving them a delicious Thanksgiving dinner.”

“Many of the men and women from Camp Lejeune are far from their homes, so Fairfield Harbour is happy to open our doors for them during the holidays,” said Larry Knapp, president of the Property Owners Association. “We have so much to be thankful for this year, including the services provided by the Marines, and we are proud that we can give back in this way. It is one of the reasons why Fairfield Harbour is a very special community and a wonderful place to call home.”
