Force Sensor for Datalogging in Schools

Bath, United Kingdom, January 15, 2006 --(PR.com)-- ScienceScope launch their new Force Sensor. As one of the UK’s leading developers of datalogging equipment that provides technology-based science learning solutions, ScienceScope have developed the new low cost Force sensor. The Force sensor is designed to measure in a range ±50N.

This new low cost Force sensor is ideal for developing the counterintuitive concepts of forces and motion. It can be used to introduce the topic of motion and forces, helping identify simple situations of measuring the forces involved in everyday phenomena, such as the impact from a trolley or while connected to a mass spring for acceleration experiments making the study of dynamics much easier to understand.

Practical experiments give your students the opportunity to interpret situations in which several forces act on an object and understand the motion of objects analysed in terms of driving force and counter force. Using this idea to discuss changes in resultant force on an object and the changes in momentum. It can lead to discussions of the actions of road safety measures such as helmets on motorbikes, car seat-belts, crumple zones in cars.

With ScienceScope Datadisc software and datalogger the software can help analyse the motion and forces being used and assist students to see real-time changes as they happen.

Specifications:
· Range: ±50N
· Minimum recommended recording interval: 50µs
