Joseph Derickson is One of the 2014 PLANADVISER Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers

Atlanta, GA, March 13, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The PLANADVISER Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers is an annual listing of retirement plan adviser individuals, teams and multi-office teams that stand out in the industry in terms of a series of quantitative measures. These measures include the dollar value of qualified plan assets under advisement (AUA), as well as the number of plans under advisement. The list also includes those who have more than 20% of their practice focused on 403(b), 457, defined benefit (DB) or nonqualified deferred compensation (NQDC) plans.

This year's qualification standards-which rise nearly every year-were quite high. Individuals had to have 65 or more plans or at least $500 million in AUA; teams needed to advise at least $1.5 billion in assets or a minimum of 125 plans; and multi-office teams needed to oversee $2.5 billion in plan assets or 200 or more plans.

It was also printed in the January-February magazine issue of PLANADVISER, and the advisers named to the list will be honored at the annual PLANSPONSOR/PLANADVISER Awards for Excellence.

To be considered for the annual PLANADVISER list, advisers had to either submit information and references or be nominated and enter the award process for the 2013 PLANSPONSOR Retirement Plan Adviser of the Year—individual, team or multi-office team. Nominees were then asked to complete a form, providing various details about their practice, some of which appear here. Advisers could also, for the first time, submit such information unsolicited, although not to be considered for the awards. The PLANADVISER Top 100 Retirement Plan Advisers list is drawn solely from a smaller set of quantitative factors and information supplied by the advisers themselves.
