Brill Publishers Selects Scope’s ConSCIse™ Platform for Book Chapter Abstracts

Scope e-Knowledge Center (Scope), a leading provider of knowledge services and a Quatrro Global Services company, has announced that Brill, the international publishing house head-quartered in Leiden, The Netherlands, has selected Scope to support its goal of increasing the discoverability of books chapters on its Brill Online Books and Journals platform. Brill intends to create chapter-level keyword and abstract metadata for its nearly 4,000 book backlist and for new books it publishes.

Brill publishes over 700 books and 200 journals a year. Its publications focus on Humanities and Social Sciences, International Law and Biology. Brill intends to create chapter-level keyword and abstract metadata for its nearly 4,000 book backlist and for new books it publishes. Scope will employ its proprietary content abstraction and metadata enrichment platform ConSCIse™ to create this metadata. ConSCIse uses a unique blend of proprietary automation and subject matter expert curation to ensure high-quality descriptive metadata is created. This unique model has enabled Scope to deliver more than five million abstracts of patents, book chapters, technical articles, standards and other documents for a number of clients.
