United States Department of Labor & OSHA Recognizes Yachting Solutions as the Newest SHARP Site

Yachting Solutions Rockport, Maine facility received the SHARP award in September of 2009 and has maintained their status as a SHARP site ever since. Yachting Solutions opened their newest branch at 56 New County Road in Rockland in 2013; expanding their workspace from 10,000 sq. ft. to 60,000 sq. ft. Yachting Solutions’ Rockland facility was awarded the SHARP award on April 7, 2014. Yachting Solutions is one of only 66 locations in the State of Maine to receive this award.

Rockport, ME, April 27, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) recognizes employers who operate an exemplary safety and health management system meeting or exceeding OSHA workplace safety standards. Acceptance into SHARP is an achievement of status and singles out companies among its business peers as a model for workplace safety and health. As a designated SHARP company, Yachting Solutions’ worksite in Rockland Maine will be exempt from OSHA programmed inspections for the next 2-years.

Yachting Solutions is one of only 66 locations in the State of Maine to receive this award. In addition, there are less than 2,000 SHARP sites nationally.

To qualify for the SHARP Program, you must:

Request consultation visits that involve a complete safety and health hazard identification survey;
Involve employees in the consultation process;
Correct all hazards identified by the consultants;
Implement and maintain a safety and health management system;
And have injury and illness rates that are below the national average for your industry classification.
