Cardinus Development Partner Wins Prestigious Education Supplier Award

Jolly Back is Education Supplier of the Year 2014; Jolly Back founder co-developed Healthy Working MOVE with Cardinus.

London, United Kingdom, May 03, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The child physiotherapist who helped Cardinus Risk Management to create an ergonomics course for young people has won a major award for suppliers to the education sector.

Lorna Taylor BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy, MCSP, HPC is the founder of Jolly Back, the leading advisor on back care and posture for children and teachers and creator of the Jolly Back chair (jollyback.com). Her organisation has just won the highly-coveted Supplier of the Year (less than £1 million turnover) in the 2014 Education Resources Awards.

The Education Resources Awards is the premier annual event to celebrate outstanding success among suppliers to the education sector and teaching professionals in the UK. It encourages the raising of educational services and product standards throughout the industry and is recognised as the accolade of excellence.

Lorna Taylor said, "I'm delighted Jolly Back has won this award. The recognition means a lot, but more importantly it's helped raise awareness off the issues around posture and back health for teachers and children. It's fantastic the education sector seems set to improve things."

In 2013 Lorna Taylor worked with Cardinus Risk Management to help create Healthy Working MOVE, an e-learning programme designed to educate children about safe working. Healthy Working MOVE explains to young people how using electronic devices, carrying school bags and adopting different postures when working and relaxing can affect their bodies. The e-learning programme is offered free-of-charge to every primary school, secondary school and college in the UK and teaches children how to use technology comfortably and safely. A version for the under 12s is available along with a more grown-up version for the 12 to 17-year-old age group and an 18+ version for students.

Jon Abbott, director of ergonomics and safety at Cardinus, said, “Obviously, we’re very pleased to hear about Jolly Back’s success. It’s great that the education sector is sitting up and taking notice of Lorna. She played a huge role in the development of Healthy Working MOVE and we are very proud to have her in our ergonomics for kids team.”
