Booger, Little Donkeyoyete and Traveler Can Now Rest Easy: There’s a Winner in the Nutrena® #BarnLife Contest

Boulder, CO, May 17, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Readers have spoken, and the results are in: One-eyed Booger, Little Donkeyoyete with his ear issues and Traveler with his arthritis will be feeling better because their owner, Sandy Lynch, has been chosen as the Grand Prize winner in the Horse&Rider and EQUUS magazine Nutrena® #BarnLife Contest.

Beginning in November, fans shared their stories about why they deserved to win a new Lester Buildings barn valued at more than $30,000.

After narrowing the field of more than 26,000 to four finalists, Lynch, of Nicholson, Ga., is the Grand Prize winner and will receive a new barn from Lester Buildings, along with one ton of Nutrena® brand feed (including equine, poultry, pet or cattle feed brands)!

After Lynch entered the contest, on behalf of her husband Bill, she casually mentioned the contest in passing. “We spent a minute or two daydreaming aloud, much like we do, when, on the rare occasion, we buy a lottery ticket,” Lynch recalled. “Never in our wildest dreams did we ever really believe it would come to fruition. We are thrilled and exceptionally grateful to Nutrena, Lester, and all of the sponsors that gave us this once in a lifetime opportunity.”

In addition to the #BarnLife Contest, readers were also invited to enter a sweepstakes for a chance to win weekly prizes.

As the Grand Prize sweepstakes winner, James Laliberte of Spencer, Mass., wins literally a ton of free feed from Nutrena®.

Sweepstakes second-place entrant Pat Beighley of Bemidji, Minn., wins a Stall Fount from Classic Equine by Richie.

The turnout for the contest and the sweepstakes was extraordinary, said Melissa Kitchen, the Equine Network’s Director of Digital Media, who oversaw the project (EQUUS and Horse&Rider are owned by the Equine Network).
“We had a lot of fun giving back to our audiences with this opportunity,” Kitchen said. “It was wonderful to see how many of our readers truly love their animals and want the best home possible for them.”
