Chicago, IL, May 23, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Mario Tricoci Announces Winner of Mario, Make Me A Model and Jockey International, Inc. Ad Competition

Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas and their partners including Jockey, International, Inc. announced the winner of Mario, Make Me A Model and the Jockey Ad Competition for 2014 as Julia Swibes at The Finale Fashion Show Event: Killer Collections and Mario, Make Me A Model Friday, May 16 at the Museum of Broadcast Communications.

Out of the final 5 contestants Julia was selected as the winner of both the Mario, Make Me A Model contest by Mario Tricoci himself and as the winner of the Jockey Ad Competition by Dustin Cohn SVP, Chief Marketing Officer Jockey International.

“In the end, it all comes down to one,” said Megan Bueschel SVP/Chief Marketing Officer of Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas. “The journey began with nearly 400 hopefuls who came out to five open model calls. The field was narrowed to 50 for the semi-finals where we selected seven. After several weeks of training the final five were selected and now Julia has won it all!”

The winner was selected after all five contestants completed 12 weeks of training with Factor Women, Chosen Model Management and Fitness Formula Clubs, received dramatic makeovers at Mario Tricoci Hair Salons & Day Spas, shot individual promotional TV spots with CBS2 Chicago, a print ad shoot and a fashion shoot with Matt Ferguson for Michigan Avenue Magazine and finally the runway walk on Friday, May 16 at the Museum of Broadcast Communications.

Jockey Print Ad Competition
Julia’s ad competition win was determined by Dustin Cohn and Mario Tricoci who both took the online public vote tally into consideration. Each contestant posed for Matt Ferguson Photography for a full-page print ad sponsored by Jockey International, Inc. The women’s advertisement features the new JOCKEY® bra, with its patented volumetric fit system, and the men posed for Jockey® Sport. All of the contestant’s layouts were featured online for public vote at www.mariomakemeamodel.com. Julia’s winning ad will run in Michigan Avenue Magazine’s summer issue on newsstands June 27.

Runway Show Finale
The conclusion of the competition was a major fashion show for a crowd of more than 500 that took place on Friday, May 16 at Chicago’s Museum of Broadcast Communications, 360 N. State Street. The contestants walked the runway with more than 25 professional models wearing spring looks from celebrated Chicago designers Agnes Hamerlik, Azeeza, Lagi Nadeau, Misanthrope and Two Penny Blue. Designer George Zaharoff provided the men’s suits for their finale walk at the end of the show.

“Our creative team lead by John Gialluisi did it again – this fashion show rivaled the many shows I have seen in Europe and New York. It was a spectacular show of talent from some of Chicago’s greatest designers to our model contestants,” said Mario Tricoci. “It is a difficult decision every year, but we are delighted to name Julia as our 2014 winner. She owned that runway and worked hard throughout the program.”
