Holt, MI, June 04, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Parimal Bapat, Ph.D., Research Engineer at Orchid, will speak at the Technical Session: Coating Implants on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 1:30 p.m. during the OMTEC Show in Chicago, IL.

During the session, Bapat will discuss the processes and properties of plasma-sprayed HA coatings, new HA coating techniques and processes and regulatory hurdles to bring new age HA coatings to the market.

This session will review the process and properties of traditional plasma-sprayed HA coating and give insight into new technologies.

“Innovation is the key to long term success and sustainability for an organization. Innovations keep the companies ahead of their competition and prepares them for future,” says Bapat.

Bapat’s presentation will focus on how recent advances in the biomedical field have opened opportunities to explore different ways to custom-tailor the specific properties of Hydroxyapatite (HA) coatings. HA forms a major component of human bone. HA coatings are widely used to coat orthopedic implants in order to promote better bone in-growth.
