)-- Camp directors want the focus on fun, not fashion. To help minimize peer pressure they are requiring some, if not all uniform apparel. Almost three fourths of summer camps now have uniforms or dress codes according to the American Camp Association. While this is a positive change, it adds to the growing price tag for overnight camps.
Jodi Greene, mom of three campers and founder of Camp Clothesline knows what camp is all about. "Our children share all of their great experiences and memories at camp, so it just seems right that they share their camp clothing as well." Camp directors have told Camp Clothesline they are receiving calls from families asking what they can do with all the clothing they have accumulated over the summers that no longer fit. "It was so great cleaning out all my closets and helping another camp family," said an Indian Head Camp dad who recently consigned.
