Hill, Chesson & Woody Hosts Free Seminar on Healthcare Reform in Greensboro Thursday, Aug. 21

Benefits Consulting Firm Hosts Educational Event to Inform Businesses About the Effects of Healthcare Reform.

Greensboro, NC, August 16, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Hill, Chesson & Woody (HCW), a health and welfare benefits brokerage and consulting firm that designs, manages and implements employee benefit programs, will host a free educational breakfast seminar at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Aug. 21 at Starmount Forest Country Club located at 1 Sam Snead Drive. This program is the second in HCW’s three-part “Get Smarter” series in the Triad area, which aims to educate North Carolina employers on the changing benefits landscape brought about by healthcare reform.

Joanne Forbes, HCW health & welfare consultant principal, will offer an overview of new ways to manage claims costs. Forbes’ presentation will demonstrate how a new web-based health claims analysis system will allow employers to review detailed information about claims costs trends, identify problems with utilization, and offer solutions for managing and reducing healthcare costs.

As a bonus, Michael Gillis, managing partner at Davenport, Marvin, Joyce & Co., LLP, will discuss succession and exit planning. Gillis will provide attendees with key takeaways for what to do now in preparation for the future. He will discuss how a well-designed exit plan enables business owners and management to control the process and timing of business exits, achieve personal financial goals, maximize company value, facilitate retirement, explore all available exit options, promote long-term growth and business survival, and minimize taxes on the transfer or sale of a business.

This free seminar is accredited by the HR Certification Institute for one general credit hour toward PHR, SPHR and GPHR recertification. Registration and breakfast will begin at 8:30 a.m., with the presentations following. For more information or to register, visit http://info.hcw-events.com/GetSmarterTriad2.
