Lee's Summit, MO, October 24, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The International Feng Shui Guild (IFSG) held elections in May for the next term of their Board of Directors. Filling open slots due to stagger and vacancies, several members return for an additional term and three new IFSG members add their voice to organization leadership for a term that began officially October 1, 2014.

In April 2014, the IFSG Nominating Committee began the process of collecting applications from IFSG professionals interested in being part of board leadership. All candidates were interviewed to determine their best fit and viability on a highly proactive and invigorating board. Based on interviews and committee discussions, a slate of candidates was created for vote by IFSG members. Nominating Committee member and 2014 board member, Renate Bell said, "Serving the IFSG Board of Directors as General Board Member and most recently as one of the Nomination Committee members, I just want to share how fun the process has been; interviewing the applicants was a great pleasure. I speak for the entire Nomination Committee when I say the committee is confident in the selection of candidates and looks forward to a highly successful, chi-filled term for all members and the prosperous continuity and longevity of the Guild."

Based on IFSG bylaws, all IFSG Professional and Red Ribbon Professional members are eligible to vote. Voting concluded May 31, with an overwhelming affirmative voice in favor of the board slate of candidates. On June 10th, Bridget Saraka, IFSG CEO, announced to membership that voting was complete and that the group of seven had been elected to the next term. Bridget said, “In gratitude the organization gives thanks to each for volunteering their unique talents and skills to the IFSG…” Newly elected board members participated in a transition role prior to the official term start October 1st to reduce the learning curve and enhance their board experience.

In September, Rosalie Prinzivalli, Board Chair 2006-2014, resigned from the Board to concentrate on personal and business opportunities. “I realized that the foundation was mostly done, as was most of my 'to do' list. I felt suddenly complete -- the time felt right…I have been honored to work with so many dedicated Board Members and to get to know our wonderful members…The current Board is stronger than ever with a combination of experienced and new Board members, all with enormous talent and heartfelt desire to serve.”

With Rosalie’s resignation, the board was tasked with the process of electing a new Board Chair. Through a comprehensive application and voting process, the board elected Mia Staysko to be Board Chair 2014-2017. From the election committee including Kristi Stangeland, IFSG Treasurer, and Maureen Calamia, General Board member, “The board is excited about the experience and leadership Mia brings to the team.”

Matching board members and their skills and backgrounds with IFSG organizational needs, goals, and priorities; it was necessary to re-align board membership. Through that re-alignment, the new composition of Board leadership and roles effective October 1st is:

Mia Staysko, Board Chair
Bridget Saraka, CEO
Maureen Calamia, Board Secretary
Kristi Stangeland, Board Treasurer
Susan Fefferman, Education Director
Frankie Jackson, Marketing Director
Tanya Jahnke, Membership Director
Lois Kramer-Perez, General Board Member
Marina V. Umali, General Board Member

Those leaving the board include Renate Bell who served as a General Board member from February 2013 through September 2014. Renate served with a strong voice, calm presence, and strong leadership. Additionally, Rosalie Prinzivalli lead the board as Chair through the creation of a strong foundation of policies and procedures that serve the organization still today.
