IUPAT Representatives Pleased with Latest Municipal Election Results, Remind Workers It’s Always a Good Time to Join a Union

Toronto, Canada, November 02, 2014 --(PR.com)-- The International Union of Painters and Allied Trades District Council 46 (IUPAT), headquartered in Toronto and serving all of Ontario, has officially expressed pleasure with the October 27, 2014, elections that took place throughout Ontario. Not only is IUPAT certain that those elected officials will serve with distinction and professionalism, but that they will also help look out for unionized tradespeople across the province.

Joe Russo, Business Manager for D.C. 46, IUPAT stated, “We were very pleased with the election results, particularly because most, if not all, of the candidates we supported for Mayor in various municipalities were elected. We look forward to working with them with a view towards improving the lives of IUPAT members.”

Aside from the high profile Toronto election results that gave the Mayoral seat to John Tory, upsetting Ford, other elections were just as important. These included placing Jim Watson (Ottawa), Mitch Twolan (Huron-Kinloss), Matt Brown (London) and Al McDonald (North Bay). Regardless of political affiliations, the candidates have shown a willingness to work with IUPAT as needed throughout their tenures.
