Greensboro, NC, November 07, 2007 --(PR.com)-- Business Leader Media announces that Brian Casey, president of the High Point Market Authority, will be guest speaker at Business Leaders Breakfast on Monday, Nov. 12 from 7:30-9 a.m. at the 11th floor of the IHFC Building in High Point. The event is sponsored by the High Point Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Brian D. Casey, CEM, had been in the trade show and meetings business for more than 26 years before accepting his current position as president & CEO of the High Point Market Authority last spring. He came to High Point from Chicago, where he was the owner of a convention and trade show services firm, Next Generation Events Group Inc. The company was a strategic sales, marketing and planning services firm dedicated to customized, revenue growth solutions, event operations and new launches for association and corporate events.

Prior to forming his own company, Brian served as executive vice president for Smith Bucklin & Associates Inc. His responsibilities included the management of an 80-person department providing professional services for 1,400 association client meetings annually and 47 trade shows. Much of the work he produced from this division included new show launches, sponsorship development, trade show sales, conference management and strategic planning. Some of the largest shows managed by his division attracted nearly 40,000 people and comprised more than 300,000 net square feet of exhibit space. The industry sectors these events represented were technology, healthcare, manufacturing and financial services.

From 1991 to 1998, Brian served as director of trade shows for Smith Bucklin, responsible for launching a brand new service division for SBA. During that time frame, his division launched new trade shows, automated their operation, developed a dedicated sales force and grew their portfolio of shows to 27. In seven years, he grew this service division into a $3 million operation.

Prior to joining Smith Bucklin, Brian served as managing director of trade shows for the International Housewares Association for a dozen years. The International Housewares Exposition at that time was the sixth largest trade show in the country with nearly 1,900 exhibitors occupying approximately 1.4 million square feet of exhibit space that attracted 60,000 people from all over the world. His primary responsibilities included sales, marketing and overall trade show and meeting operations for the development and management of the world renowned event.

Brian currently serves on the board of the Center for Exhibition Industry Research and as a board member for IAEM. He is a past chairman of the Future Strategic Planning committee for the International Association of Exposition Managers (IAEM), past chairman of Major American Trade Show Organizers (MATSO), past chairman of IAEM Midwest Chapter, past chairman of the National IAEM Programming Committee and past chairman of the national IAEM Membership Development Committee. He also served on the advisory committee for the Chicago Convention Bureau, Phoenix Convention Bureau and GES Exposition Services. He is a graduate of DePaul University with a bachelor of arts in commerce.
