Local Boating and Golf Community Invites Families and Pets to Take Holiday Photos in Support of Team Fairfield Harbour Cares

New Bern, NC, November 22, 2014 --(PR.com)-- Fairfield Harbour, a residential boating and golf community located 15 minutes from historic New Bern, has announced that its official Relay for Life team, Fairfield Harbour Cares, will host a holiday fundraiser to support cancer research and awareness on Sunday, Nov. 23 from noon to 4 p.m. at Red Sail Park, located at 906 Red Sail Road.

Families and friends are invited to bring their pets along for a photo with Santa Claus and to enjoy cookies, cider and treats for their pet companions at the event. Photo prices will range from $8 to $10, and all proceeds will benefit Relay for Life in its goal to support cancer fighters and survivors everywhere. Appointments for photos must be made in advance with Kathy Petritsch at (252) 876-3002.

As the signature fundraiser for the American Cancer Society, Relay for Life hosts events across the globe to honor cancer survivors and remember loved ones who fought and fight back against the disease. Funds raised by these events go towards groundbreaking research for the cure and providing free information and services to patients and their families. Local communities such as Fairfield Harbour host Relay for Life events to bring awareness to neighbors and contribute to the worldwide cause.

“Fairfield Harbour Cares is excited to host a fundraiser for such an amazing cause,” said Mystre’ Van Horn, community manager of Fairfield Harbour. “This is a great chance to spend the day with the community celebrating survivors and helping fight against the disease with Relay for Life, while getting to have fun showing off your pet with a photo with Santa.”

“This event is a great reminder of what makes this community so special,” said Larry Knapp, president of the Fairfield Harbour board of directors. “By supporting the Fairfield Harbour Cares team at this fundraiser, we’re giving back to the Craven County community in a significant way.”

- Pet owners are asked to keep pets on a leash and bring any scoopers or bags necessary.
