PULSE 19 Updates Harmonise Sound and Vibration Productivity

PULSE 19, the latest version of Brüel & Kjær’s data acquisition and analysis platform, enhances the broad range of PULSE applications available for aerospace, automotive, telecommunication and industrial industries.

Royston, United Kingdom, January 14, 2015 --(PR.com)-- LAN-XI frames now have a built-in Global Positioning System (GPS) receiver, enabling accurate synchronization of multiple front-end data acquisition systems. This allows engineers to distribute several data acquisition systems over a large physical area and record data, without the requirement for full data transfer capacity between stations. This makes it ideal for applications such as Helicopter ramp testing, explosion testing where large distances are required between measurement points and underwater surveillance

The PULSE Reflex applications have also been upgraded to full 64-bit capability, benefiting customers with an increased data capacity and making it ideal for working with large datasets – especially in the data viewers, Result Matrix and Data Table.

A new Graphic User Interface (GUI) also provides a better user experience – from initial start-up, general setup to administration of projects and databases. One particular new feature is the “favourite” concept for tasks and sub-tasks. This allows users to set up the interface so that it only contains tasks relevant to the job at hand, making it easier for those less familiar with the system.

Tests can be launched from a dedicated template ready to process time data, and monitor in real-time with fast live displays. This makes it easier to perform high-productivity benchmarking, troubleshooting tests and analysis.

A dedicated template for full-scale wind tunnel testing has been added in PULSE 19. The yaw angle interface allows users to specify the yaw angle of a vehicle and execute automatic calculation of the beamforming map – in parallel with the vehicle surface – providing improved resolution at yaw angles different from zero.
