)-- Accretive Health is pleased to announce that Corey Perman has joined its leadership team as the new chief compliance officer. Perman brings to his new position almost 20 years of legal, healthcare and compliance experience working with integrated delivery networks, a national law firm and several government agencies.
“As we accelerate our momentum in 2015, we are making changes that will help us better navigate the evolving healthcare landscape,” said Peter Csapo, Accretive Health’s chief financial officer and treasurer. “Corey’s experience will be vital as we roll out a disciplined operational excellence model across our entire business.”
Most recently, Perman served as senior compliance officer and legal counsel at Downers Grove, Ill.-based Advocate Health Care. At Advocate Health Care, he led efforts to build standardization and best practices for the organization’s compliance function and played an integral role in advising the health system on key regulatory and compliance issues.
Prior to Advocate Health Care, Perman was a senior associate at the law firm of Epstein Becker & Green, working in the firm’s litigation and national health care practice groups. Before that, he served as a trial attorney for the United States Department of Labor, Office of the Solicitor, Plan Benefits Security Division, where he conducted federal district court and appellate litigation under ERISA. Perman also served as a fellow with the United States Senate Committee on Labor and Human Resources.
Perman holds a Bachelor of Science degree with honors from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and a Juris Doctor degree from Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, MO.
