FKP Architects Creates a Place for Budding Careers: Rawa Rassam and Amanda Glidewell Join FKP

Houston, TX, March 11, 2015 --(PR.com)-- FKP Architects continues to add emerging design talent to the Houston office. The firm is pleased to introduce Amanda Glidewell and Rawa Rassam as Design Technicians for FKP. Both individuals received top design awards as collegians and went on to noted architectural practices locally and abroad. At FKP they will assist project teams with design concepts and development, project permitting, and construction documentation.

While at Texas Tech University, Glidewell was chosen as the student representative to the Ghost 10 design/build workshop in Canada. She went on to earn a Master’s in Architecture degree with a Certificate of Community Design & Development. She served as intern director for the AIA Northeast Texas Chapter and plans to take an active role in the AIA Houston.

Rassam was an assistant architect at a firm in Iraq and an interior designer for a firm in Jordan before relocating to Houston to study and practice interior design. She has since won numerous design awards, including two top honors from the IIDA Texas Oklahoma Chapter for the student design charrette in 2014 and “best of” the commercial design category in 2013.

“Both of these women represent the type of young professional any firm would be happy to have. Their exceptional skill sets convey that Amanda and Rawa both have the drive and commitment to propel their careers to any height. Our internal teams and FKP clients will undoubtedly benefit from the level of excellence these individuals have already demonstrated,” according to Ronda H. Wang, Vice President and Project Manager.

Glidewell received her B.S. Architecture (cum laude) and M. Architecture degrees from Texas Tech University. Rassam earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from The Art Institute of Houston and ranked highest in her class at the University of Mosul, where she received a B.S. Architectural Engineering degree.
