The Hammond’s from Cammeray are lovers of cooking and entertaining and wanted to create a complimentary working environment for preparing meals and cocktails. They wanted a kitchen that functioned like a kitchen, but did not look like a kitchen. Mr Hammond said “We have a beautiful kitchen that we absolutely love."
The design revolved around making the kitchen a statement piece, whilst working well with the adjoining rooms. The abundance of natural light contrasts beautifully with dark cabinetry creating a fresh ambiance in the space.
Art of Kitchens designer Ole Jensen said, “We are very excited about this win. It’s a true testament to the entire team.”
Judges commented, “This kitchen exhibited standout craftsmanship throughout. All of the materials were balanced and used effectively, with the overall design well suited to the house in every way. Elevating the kitchen gave it the additional feeling of space and grandeur. A beautiful kitchen. The kitchen design was well executed and delivered to the overall house design a grand, spacious, and stunning kitchen. The design seamlessly merged into the environment of the home and the combination of materials provided a sense of balance and harmony to the home.”
