About Daniel Gallagher

Daniel Gallagher’s practice involves corporate litigation with a particular emphasis on product liability, insurance law (particularly as it relates to product liability claims) and litigation involving complex engineering issues. Many of the product liability claims handled by Dan have involved breakdowns of large machinery in manufacturing and factory settings, additives in gasoline as well as contaminated food products. Nearly all of these matters have involved large business interruption losses claimed as part of the damages in the litigation.

Former head of the firm’s alternative dispute resolution/arbitration practice, he has extensive experience in acting in arbitrations.

Dan is a frequent speaker, author and presenter on chambers’ applications, rules of procedure, litigation precedents, land-related litigation, alternative dispute resolution, and international commercial arbitration.

Dan has authored revisions, supplements and other publications for the Legal Education Society of Alberta, including Alberta Court Forms, Chambers’ Practice, and other publications that are used in various courses, including the bar course and a course given to members of the judiciary of the Province of Alberta.
