)-- Newbarn Ltd has won the Rochdale Diversity Award for Housing, with sister organisation Blue Pits Housing Action co-finalist and runner up.
The organisations, which provide accommodation and support for adults with mental health problems and learning difficulties, secured the awards at event on Thursday 28th May at Rochdale Town Hall.
Judges scored the finalists on a range of categories, including cohesion, diversity in the workplace, inclusion, communities provision and services provision.
Collecting the award on behalf of Newbarn Ltd, Kiaran Burke, Director of Blue Pits Housing Action and Newbarn Ltd, said:
"Thank you for the nomination, thank you to Rochdale, and thanks to all the staff.
"This is a really big surprise, it's amazing.
"We must thank Blue Pits Housing Action - they are a brand new company, and are dynamic.
"We have learned a lot from them. Thank you very much."
