)-- The webinar covers:
-Introduction to SGS
-Overview of the Standard
Food packaging is becoming an increasingly important and diverse sector within the food supply chain. With increased regulatory, labeling and performance requirements being made for packaging materials the packaging producers need to ensure their products are meeting the expectations of their customers in a consistent and safe fashion.
Incidents of compromised food safety are on the rise and the packaging material has a vital role to play in ensuring the quality and safety of the food which it is containing. In order to support the packaging manufacturer and the desire of the food manufacturers to have transparency within the food supply chain the Foundation for Food Safety have developed the FSSC 22000 standard for packaging.
Neil Milvain – Global Product Manager - Packaging, SGS
Neil has background in manufacturing and retail. Qualified as a polymer technologist, Neil has worked with design and specification of packaging materials and print for some of the largest high street retailers. He is now responsible for all the GFSI approved packaging standards offered by SGS, as well as improving and maintaining the competencies of the audit teams responsible for providing these services. Neil also works closely with the commercial teams in SGS developing bespoke standards and protocols to meet their specific demands.

He works with Neil and the FSSC over the last couple of months to develop a better understanding of what the FSSS packaging standard does/does not cover, and how to grow and improve the auditing service SGS provides current and new customers whilst ensuring to adhere to the FSSC standard relating to food contact packaging.
The webinar is mainly aimed at packaging companies that are seeking certification of their Food Safety Management Systems to the FSSC 22000 standard. It is also aimed at interested parties who are considering the FSSC 22000 standard.
