EMKA Guide for Use, Application and Storage of Closed Cell Self-Adhesive Sponge Rubber

EMKA now have available a guide to processing information for the use, application and storage of closed cell self-adhesive sponge rubber gasket sealing sections which are used in the cabinet, enclosure and motor vehicle industries.

Coventry, United Kingdom, December 20, 2015 --(PR.com)-- Leading suppliers to the specialist cabinet and enclosure marketplace – EMKA (UK) Ltd – now have available a guide to processing information for the use, application and storage of closed cell self-adhesive sponge rubber gasket sealing sections. These sealing sections are extensively used in the cabinet, enclosure and motor vehicle industries where very large amounts of this material are processed on a continuous basis. While relatively robust in bulk, both EPDM and Chloroprene Rubber (CR) materials are nonetheless vulnerable to mishandling. Correct storage and handling will ensure extended shelf life and maintain the inherent elastic properties of this material, e.g. compression deflection, elongation and tensile strength.

EMKA offer standard sections of 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70 and 80mm width in thicknesses from 3mm to 40mm. Coil lengths with self-adhesive backing are from 1m to 10m; it is important that these coils are handled correctly to ensure optimum performance when installed. The EMKA Program 1016 closed cell sponge rubber processing note is available at www.emkablog.co.uk/cell-sponge-rubber-guide.
