Applied Graphene Sciences Announces Boost in Production Target

Applied Graphene Sciences has announced a significant boost in its projected production for 2017.

Shenzhen, China, July 08, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Applied Graphene Sciences is pleased to announce that net production of commercial and industrial grade graphene products will increase by over 700% by the fourth quarter of the 2017 fiscal year.

Production of single and few-layer graphene materials at Applied Graphene Sciences has hitherto been restricted to a maximum of 1 ton of graphene nano-plates each year owing to the challenges posed by graphite supply-side limitations.

A recent innovation, however, means that the Shenzhen, China-based advanced materials producer is now able to reduce its reliance on mined graphite and, instead, source the raw material using a technique that extracts carbon atoms derived from corn-based ethanol.

“This development is truly ground-breaking and will result in a huge increase in production at our state-of-the-art plant,” explained Robert Tsu, International Investor Relations Officer at Applied Graphene Sciences.

“Up until now, we’ve had to rely on traditional mining sources for our supply of the graphite essential to graphene production and, consequently, we’ve been unable to grow output and take advantage of the spare capacity at our facilities but this breakthrough is a game-changer for us,” he continued.

With the scope for commercial applications increasing steadily, Applied Graphene Sciences anticipates a significant jump in demand for its products but that may present a new challenge for the company insofar as the sourcing of suitably highly-qualified personnel is concerned.

“The projected increase in production will almost certainly require a corresponding increase in our headcount and we will be making a formal announcement to that effect in due course,” concluded Tsu.

About Applied Graphene Sciences:
Applied Graphene Sciences was founded during 2010 and has its central operations and processing plant situated in China.

Over the last 5 years we have successfully established a full commercial-scale graphene production facility with an annual nameplate capacity of one ton of graphene nano-plates.

Additionally we are fully equipped to produce graphene as a finished material via "Roll-to-Roll" methods and C.V.D. (Chemical Vapor Deposition).

Since the commissioning of our state-of-the-art production facility, Applied Graphene Sciences has built meaningful and productive commercial partnerships allowing us to further the development of applications for graphene across a variety of sectors within industry.
