Philadelphia, PA, July 18, 2016 --(PR.com
)-- Source One Management Services is proud to announce the firm’s Latin America sourcing expert and Associate Director, Diego De la Garza, has been awarded the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals’ (CSCMP) 2016 Emerging Leader Award. The CSCMP Emerging Leader Award annually recognizes outstanding supply management professionals age 30 and younger for their substantive contributions to the industry.
One of only three supply chain professionals selected for the honor this year, De la Garza is recognized for his accomplishments as a procurement practitioner and strategic sourcing consultant for industry-leading companies. With experience supporting procurement and strategic sourcing initiatives in a wide range of industries such as manufacturing, technology, and financial services, De la Garza is a regularly-sought procurement transformation
pundit. He is a go-to resource for enhancing supply management operations, providing guidance on strategy, processes, human capital, tools and technology. In addition, De la Garza has served as a major driving force behind Source One’s expansion into the Midwest, growing the firm’s Chicago River North office into a city mainstay
Reflecting on receiving the Emerging Leader Award De la Garza shared; “Being named a CSCMP Emerging Leader is a tremendous honor. This award from the Council of Supply Management Professionals reflects Source One’s company culture - fostering a team of leaders who are encouraged to continuously take initiative and leverage our individually unique skillsets to deliver more value for our clients. As a procurement consulting firm and as a team of professionals, we are constantly working to improve our service offering for our clients specific to their needs, whether that means launching new spend management tools, building new procurement practices, or providing on-demand resources for their project requirements.”
Among his many achievements, De la Garza leads Source One’s Nearshoring Advisory Practice which he developed from the ground up by leveraging his language skills and knowledge of the Latin American market landscape. In building this unique consulting practice, De la Garza formed relationships with key stakeholders in Mexico such as universities, business networks, and governmental agencies to forge a mutual beneficial network that eased the nearshoring process for Source One clients and enhanced the education of future supply chain professionals.
De la Garza is also an industry thought leader, regularly contributing to white papers, procurement-related blog outlets, and presenting at supply management conferences. Later this year, De la Garza will be honored as an Emerging Leader during the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals’ Annual Conference. Also during the conference De la Garza will be presenting a session titled: Sourcing from Mexico: The Supplier Development Challenge. The session will cover the reasons why more and more companies are moving supply chain operations from Asia to Mexico, the challenges of sourcing in the country, as well as solutions for navigating the complex market landscape.
