Atlanta Based Moore Colson on the 'Grow' Again - Adds Six to the Professional Staff, and Three Interns

Moore Colson continues to grow its professional staff and is approaching 80 employees.

Atlanta, GA, January 20, 2008 --(PR.com)-- Atlanta based accounting firm, Moore Colson, recently announced the hiring of six new employees and three interns in January, 2008. Moore Colson, founded in 1981, is a full-service firm located in Atlanta, Georgia, providing tax and assurance services, real estate, management consulting services, estate and financial services, and IT audit services.

Donna Borkowsky - Tax Supervisor in the firm’s Tax Services Practice. With over seventeen years experience in public accounting, Donna most recently worked as a Manager with Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC, Atlanta, where she was responsible for managing multiple audit and review engagements for non-profits, real estate developers and managers, healthcare entities, construction companies and governmental entities. Donna is a graduate of Shorter College, with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting, and received her CPA in 1995.

Dontanella Journet-Mack - Tax Senior Associate in the firm’s Tax Services Practice. Dontanella has over nineteen years experience in public accounting and industry, which includes both domestic and international executive taxes. Prior to joining Moore Colson, Dontanella worked as a Tax Senior Associate with KPMG, LLP, Atlanta, where she prepared and reviewed tax planning for high-income individuals, specialized in preparing large partnership, S-Corp, and C-Corp consolidated and multi-state tax returns including real estate partnerships. Dontanella is currently working towards obtaining a B.S. in Accounting.

Nick Miller -Business Assurance Associate in the firm’s Business Assurance Services Practice. Nick is a 2005 graduate of North Georgia College & State University, Dahlonega, Georgia, with a Bachelors’ Degree in Accounting. Prior to joining Moore Colson, Nick was an Advanced Staff Auditor at the Georgia Department of Audits & Accounts, Atlanta, Georgia. In this position, Nick was the In-Charge Auditor for the FY 2006 audit of the Georgia Golf Hall of Fame, Lead Auditor of the Georgia Child Support Enforcement program, and of the Direct Benefits account for the Department of Human Resources.

Alicia White -Administrative Assistant in the firm’s Tax Services Practice.
Alicia comes to Moore Colson from Bennett Thrasher, PC where she served as a Tax Professional and Administrative Assistant. Alicia also served as an Administrative Assistant with Moore Stephens Tiller, LLC. Alicia is a 1997 graduate of Georgia Southern University with a B.A. Bachelor of Business Administration.

Ashlie Shepard is a 2007 graduate of East Carolina University, and joined Moore Colson’s Business Assurance team as a Business Assurance Associate. Ashlie has a BS and MS combined degree in Accounting. Ashlie worked in the Financial Services Department for East Carolina University for the past year and was responsible for preparing spreadsheets and reconciling various accounts, scholarship accounts, loan accounts and grant accounts. Ashlie is a member of Beta Alpha Psi, The National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Phi Sigma Theta national Honor Society and Student Accounting Society. She also made the honor roll for fall, 2002 – 04 and spring 2003 – 06.

Jonathan Lambert - Business Assurance Associate in the firm’s Business Assurance Services Practice. Jonathan is a graduate of Georgia State University, Atlanta, Georgia, with a Post Baccalaureate in Accounting, and a BS Degree in Business Administration from Franciscan University of Steubenville, Steubenville, Ohio. Prior to joining Moore Colson, Jonathan was a staff accountant with firstPro Inc corporate, Atlanta, Georgia.

Originally from Australia, Brydee Warner is currently a student at Samford University. Brydee will join the Business Assurance Practice this spring and plans to graduate May, 2008 with a BS in Business Administration. Brydee has been a member of the Dean’s List since 2004 and is Vice President of Planning for Beta Alpha Psi. She is the recipient of the Ernst and Young Scholarship (2007-8), and the Richard D. Horsley Scholarship (2006-7). Brydee currently has a 3.70/4.0 GPA.

Emily Broussard, a student at the University of Alabama will complete course work for a BS in Commerce and Business Administration in May, 2008. While studying at Alabama, Emily served as a resident advisor in 2007, and University Programs - Creation Committee Member, 2005. She also made the President’s List (2005-07), and participates in intramural sports. Emily currently holds a 3.93/4.0 GPA and will work in the firm’s Business Assurance Practice.

Christina Quinones, also a University of Alabama student, will join the firm’s Tax Services Practice, and hopes to obtain a BS in Business Administration by May 2008 as well. Over the years at Alabama, Christina has been involved in a number of programs. Christina served as Accounting Assistant at the Ferguson Student Union, named Outstanding Minority Undergraduate 2006, Business Honors Program 2006/7, Women’s Honors Program 2004/5, Presidential Scholarship, National Hispanic Scholar and Scholastic Silver key Art Award. Christina also participated in the University of Alabama’s Study Abroad Program at Chiba University, Chiba, Japan.
