Ian McKay Joins Auriga as Sales Director to Take the Compass SOC-as-a-Service in New Directions

London, United Kingdom, September 17, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Auriga, specialists in cyber security, technology and risk management, today announced the appointment of Ian McKay as Sales Director. Ian will oversee business development and maximize new business opportunities driving growth in both the consultancy side of the business and infiltrating new markets with the Compass next generation Security Operations Center (SOC). Ian joins Auriga from Micro Focus, where he came onboard with TAG upon its acquisition by the company, and helped ensure the smooth integration of the two companies and alignment of channel strategies.

Ian McKay has over twenty years experience in the IT and security industry and is experienced in revenue generation initiatives, partnership relationship management and change management. In his previous roles at TAG (formerly known as The Attachmate Group) he managed channel sales across EMEA, developed a worldwide channel model and won substantial client contracts, boosting sales year-on-year. He was also instrumental in the acquisition and integration of Novell by the company and ensured a seamless transition.

As Sales Director at Auriga, Ian McKay will play a pivotal role in helping forge new channel partnerships and creating sales opportunities for the Compass SOC-as-a-Service. Compass is a next generation SOC that combines threat intelligence with business intelligence to deliver a tailored solution to future-proof the business by informing security spend. The innovative nature of the service makes time to market imperative and McKay will develop and implement a sales strategy to take Compass into new vertical markets. McKay will also push the consultancy arm of the business, helping Auriga to further expand its presence in the private sector.

“Ian brings a wealth of experience, knowledge and expertise to the senior management team and we’re delighted to welcome him to Auriga. He joins us during an exciting year which has already seen us retain our contract with the Department for Work and Pensions on the consultancy side and launch the Compass SOC-as-a-Service offering. With Ian onboard and an expanded sales team, we are now well placed to begin pushing those services into relevant verticals to secure new business,” said Louise T. Dunne, CEO, Auriga.
