Worcester Manufacturer Saves Money by Upgrading to LED Lighting

Walker Magnetics, a manufacturer of workholding, lifting, and material handling equipment, has upgraded to LED lighting. The company is expected to save over $10,000 a year with a project payback period of less than two years.

Quincy, MA, November 30, 2016 --(PR.com)-- Prism Energy Services helped Walker Magnetics save money and improve visibility, safety, and workmanship through the installation of energy efficient LED lighting. After a comprehensive site evaluation, new LED highbay lighting fixtures were installed, significantly improving the light levels within the manufacturing space. Sensors were also installed on the fixtures to automatically turn off lights in the areas of the facility that were used only intermittently.

“Changing the fixtures has made a huge improvement to our factory,” says Patti Mullins, Plant Manager at Walker Magnetics. “All of the work areas are now bright and very well lit.”

Walker Magnetics will reduce its energy consumption by just under 75,000 kWh and is expected to save over $10,000 a year. The company is expected to become cash-flow positive in only 1.7 years.
